Hi. I’m the creator of Tas Matters.
I’m a Tasmanian with a curious mind and a strong interest in the issues that affect our communities, our institutions and our everyday lives.

I don’t claim to be an expert on every topic I write about. In fact, the reason I research is because I’m often trying to understand an issue myself.

I’m interested in all tiers of government, including policy, governance and accountability. I like to understand the needs of our community and matters affecting Tasmanians. I am a passionate advocate for disability inclusion.

Tas Matters was created as a place to share that research and those insights with others. My hope is that by bringing together information and a variety of perspectives, this site helps readers become better informed, participate confidently in public discussions and make their voices heard before decisions are made.

I believe good communities depend on engaged citizens. That means asking questions, seeking facts, listening respectfully to different views and being willing to challenge ideas—including our own.

You don’t need to agree with every opinion expressed on this site. In fact, healthy debate is important. My aim is not to tell people what to think, but to provide information, context and analysis that helps people think for themselves.
